Biography

In August 1941, with his family, evacuated from city of Nikolaev to village Rovnoye, Saratov District, to escape advancing German Army.



On March 6, 1942 was drafted to the Soviet Army and sent to Engels machine-gun Military Professional School, located in the city of Krasnoarmeisk.



On August 6, 1944, in the rank of Jr. Lieutenant, arrived to the Reserve of the First Belorussian Front; from there was sent to the Reserve of the 70-th Army.



In January 1945, after releasing from the military hospital, was sent to 277-th Light Weapons Regiment of the 175-th Division of the 125-th Light Weapons Regiment of 47-th Army.



As a part of 277-th Regiment, took part on the battle for liberation of Warsaw.



By the end of March 1945, as a part of his Regiment, reached the right bank of the river Oder, in the operation to liberate occupied part of Poland on the right bank of the river Vistula. 



At the beginning of April 1945, by the order of 47th Army, was sent to 216-th Light Weapons Regiment of 76-th Light Weapons Division of 47th Army, to take the position of the commander of the machine-gun platoon.



On the night of April 14, the Regiment crossed the river Oder to take part in capturing Berlin.



As the part of his Regiment, participated in the battles to surround and capture Berlin. 



On May 6, after Berlin capitulation, his Regiment reached the river Elbe and united with the Allies Armies.



 In July 1945, was appointed the platoon commander of 201st Separate Firearms company to guard artillery warehouse.



In October 1945 was appointed as a commander of the machine-gun platoon of the 278-th Light Weapon Regiment of the 175-th Light Weapon Division of the 3rd Strike Army of the Group of the Soviet Occupation Military in Germany (GSOiG), in the region of Thuringia.  Was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant.



After this, was sent to village Obersacsvefren, to take the position of the commander of the border patrol outpost on the demarcation line between Soviet and British Occupational zones.   



In October 1946, was sent to city of Babelsberg, near Berlin, to 27th Separate Officer’s Reserve Regiment of GSOiG.



In September 1946, was appointed the commander of the platoon to guard aviation garrison of the 11th Technical Aviation Regiment of the 16th Air Army in the city of Brandenburg.



In November 1946, was appointed the commandant of the aviation garrison of the city of Brandenburg





Until 1947, served in Germany in GSOiG.



In July 1947, has been enrolled at Leningrad Military Academy of Communication, with the major in radars.



After graduating from the Academy, was appointed a professor of radio engineering at Gorkiy Military Radio Engineering School.



In 1954, enrolled to PhD program at Kiev Higher Education Military Radio Engineering Institute (KHMREI)



Obtained PhD in technical sciences, worked as associated professor/the lead of the section of the pulse technology at KHMREI. Authored the textbook on pulse technology, adopted as mandatory textbook for all Higher Education Military Radio Engineering Institutes in the Soviet Aerial Defense Forces. Authored 2 monographies and numerous publications related to pulse technology.



In 1976, was honorably discharged from the Army in the rank of colonel-engineer.



From 1976 till 1998, worked as the department manager of the Institute of Higher Education under the auspice of the Ukraine Ministry of Education. 



In 1998 emigrated to the US, currently, lives in Los Angeles
