Biography

Aba Kovner (1918-1988) Born in Wilna. Leader of partisans, one of the Wilna Ghetto fighters, writer and poet, he was awarded the Israel Prize for Literature and the Bialik prize.
a partisan leader who took part in the Wilna Ghetto uprising, after the war was one of the group who organized the "illegal" immigration of Jews to Palestine. He took part in the War of Independence in the Givati Brigade. After the establishment of the State he became one of Israel's foremost writers.
