קורות חיים

נולד לדוד וחנה יפת, ב-24 באפריל 1916 בבומביי, הודו. הוא למד בבתי הספר הטובים ביותר בבומביי ולאחר סיום לימודיו הצטרף למתקן השירות של מפעל האספקה של ​​פורד בבומביי כחניך בתפקידים שונים ועד מהרה עלה לתפקיד מנהל העבודה. בשנת 1937 זכה במלגת סר ויקטור ששון ללמוד הנדסת רכב בצ'לסי בלונדון, שם הוא סיים בהצטיינות הראשון בכיתה ראשונה עם דיפלומה בהנדסת רכב. הוא המשיך את לימודיו בהנדסת מכונות במכון הטכני של וונדסוורת 'בלונדון. 

עם סיום הלימודים חזר להודו ב -1940 והצטרף לחברת הנדסה בבומביי, והיה אחראי על שיפוץ מכוניות מתוצרת בריטניה.

ב -1941 הוא הצטרף לצי המלכותי בהודו כמדען מוטורי, והיה למדריך במכון להכשרת מכונות בחיל הים, עד שנת 1945. הוא הוסמך לקצונה והיה לקצין טכני בצי ההודי - H.M.I.S. בבומביי, שם היה אחראי על הציוד הימי של הצי. הוא קודם והגיע לדרגת קומנדר (Cmdr).  הוא זכה למדליות על שרותו בצי המלכותי ההודי ולאחר מכן בצי של הודו העצמאית. 

היה חובב נלהב של אמנות, תרבות וספורט עם כשרון לשירה, דרמה וארגון והדרכה של מקהלות ומחזות. עלה ארצה, התגורר בחיפה נישא שוב ועבר לגור בהדר יוסף תל-אביב.

נפטר בשנת 2017.
